History of TWCCC

The TWCCC was established in 1993 in the Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas-Austin (UT-Austin). The consortium expanded its activities in 1995 to include the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison). In 2007 the consortium expanded to the University of Southern California (USC) and in 2018 it expanded again to the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB).
The campuses of UT-Austin, UW-Madison, UCSB, and USC are recognized internationally for research programs in systems modeling, monitoring, control, optimization, and data scienceIn addition, the Departments of Chemical Engineering at these institutions are recognized as leaders across a broad spectrum of chemical engineering research and educational areas. The Department of Computer Science at Wisconsin is famous for outstanding optimization research. All of these departments attract highly-qualified graduate students.
